Nipping Horse? Groundwork problems? Help!!!?

SMACK HIM WHEN HE NIPS. i don't know what your thoughts on smacking are, but he will not stop till you do. do you think his dam, or any other horse, would put up with it? no! use the 3 second rule: if you don't catch it 3 second (give or take) after it happens, don't punish him(he won't know what its for). and only punish him for 3 seconds. and as far as the lunging part goes, i would need to see it in order to get what he's doing. it may be a dominance issue, that could account for the nipping as well. try john loins methods.
