How do you take an MIP misdemeanor offense off your record?

Does anyone know if an MIP can be taken off your record? And how would you do it? The person had an open container in their trunk but did not know it was there and had not been drinking.This is in the state of Texas. I would appreciate any useful information that anyone has on this subject.
