On a lead-free PCB for RoHS, which is the more common contact on the components: Tin or Gold?

Manufacturing lead free electronic PCBs we have the choice of SMD components with Tin (Sn) plated contacts or with Gold (NiPdAu) plated contacts. Tin is lower cost but may have a problem growing crystal "whiskers". What type contact is most common in automotive products?
