How did my kitten die?

Put my kitten and her food into her little kennal on Saturday night....when i opened it d next morning the food was gone but she wasn't there I was really worried the door was locked so there was no way she could get out and there is also another entrance to the kennel you can open the kennal by opening the roof but it would be impossible for her to open it as she is too small!! I was really worried when I couldn't find her but then I saw my other cat staring into a field near our house so I went into the field and found her in the field dead I was really upset and still am!! Have no idea how she got out of that kennal it's very strange!! my parents definietly didn't open it!! and have no clue how she died, her eyes and mouth were opened but there was no blood!! She was a very playfull kitten and heathy she was grand the night i put her in the kennal but she was very hyper but that was normal for her!! we do have three dogs but i doubt they would have opened the kennal!! It's really strange wat happened. And miss her so much i can't stop crying!!
