Why do employers hand jobs to unqualified African Americans instead of qualified whites?

Political correctness and Affirmative Action have had the opposite of the intended effect. I have an African American friend who got into vet school with a B average because of Affirmative Action. You have approx 1,000 students competing for every spot in each of 120 positions each year. These are A students who are valedictorians and on the football team. My friend was not academically qualified and flunked out the first semester; he was in over his head. Someone that was qualified did not get in because he was given the spot. Would you want to go do a doctor who got into med school through Affirmative Action, or one who had to compete for and win their spot?
