Why does your throat feel wierd when you chew minty gum and then spit it out and eat or drink something?

Because there is certain compounds in peppermint and other mints that interact with the nerve system in the nose and mouth called, trigeminal nerve system , and that maks the nerves sensitive to cooling,so that is why. If you notice, when you inhale, that makes the mouth feel cool.
