Transmission is not kickin in with the gears what could be the problem?

I have a 98 Ford Windstar and when I drive it sometimes the RPM's go way high and dont come down other times they dont move at all. I want to know if you guys could give me any pointers as to what it could be. Is it the transmission? or is it the motor? What could be the probably causes for which the RPM's are acting funny. The symptoms of the transmission include surges, loss of velocity at times, and the troubled codes the obd reader keeps givin me are P0174 any help is greatly appreciated thank you.

For over 2 years three other females and myself were victims of ual harment. Our employers owned the business and knew we were single uneducated parents. After I was demoted from my supervising position for reporting the harment we quit and hired an attorney it has been 2 yrs and their lawyers stopped any further depositions and decided to go to mediation. Well after I drove 4 hrs to get to mediation the other party decided they were going to file bankruptcy and they didn't even notify their own attorney..... Any how we are in a waiting game for the next 2 weeks to see if they even qualify for bankruptcy but I am just curious to know what possibilities may come next and what does that mean for us....... any input is appreciated...

If a recipe calls for ground thyme, can I substitute it with italian seasoning?

I am making italian roast beef sandwiches for dinner tonight and it calls for me to simmer the beef for 3-4 hours in a dutch oven. The recipe calls for ground thyme but all I have is italian seasoning flakes, which has thyme and oregano in it. What is wrong with my Dell Inspiron?

I am having some issues with my Dell Inspiron laptop. Last week sometime, my computer stopped charging. The computer detected that it was plugged in, but the charge status was "Plugged In, Not Charging." I checked, and the battery was supposedly in working order. Then a few days ago, I was online and my computer just instantaneously shut off. I was able to reboot it with no problems. It did this a few more times. Now, my computer will only stay on for around a minute before it shuts down on its on. What's my issue?

A little gr frog jumped into my hottub and can't move it's back legs now. It's alive and alert. Advice?

We opened the hot tub to check on the little frogs that are usually there. One was right next to the opening and jumped into the hot tub. The water is pretty hot, hotter than usual and chlorinated now. We got it out as fast as we could but now it's back legs aren't working. They're stiff. It's front legs are moving and it seems alert. It tried to crawl away from us when we moved it, but it was dragging it's back legs. It's been like this for about 45 minutes and it seems to be breathing well and has a seemingly normal heart beat. My "friends" are all people I've known since early high school or before. Does anyone know the FAA rules regarding the rationale of why in some flights there are 3 seats in a row and other times, 2 seats in a row, and in larger flights, 5 seats in a row? I travel often with my 2 kids and another adult will be with me, and it would be great to all sit together 4 in a row. The flights we take are smaller air crafts, so we have to split up, 2 and 2. In larger air crafts, there can be 4 or 5 seats together in a row. Is there a reason why, for example there couldn't be more than 3 seats in a row in a smaller air craft?

Study Abroad Grants/Scholarships For A High School Student?

I am currently a junior in high school. For my senior year I am trying to participate in a foreign exchange program with OGSHS (Osaka Girls Senior High School) in Japan. The program is relatively cheap, and because it is cheaper than most (such as Rotary or AFS ect.) they are unable to provide financial istance at this time. The program will cost me around 11,300 Dollars for one year. I have a job and am trying to save up as much money as I can, however I have daily expenses which eat up most of that small income. I have been searching and trying to find scholarships, grants, and sponsorships for months now, and I've gotten no where. This is very important to me, and I need help finding a way to make this happen. I've searched for scholarships for international students or studying abroad. In 1963 the Unites States had a 20 million dollar surplus(people owed us money). Well after Vietnam we went down to around 5 million. And then after Desert Storm we ended up in even more debt..Now since then we have been ok. But then Clinton came into office and started the Free Trade Act and cost us the economy and lots and lots of money. The amount of money that we owe, which is way past my understanding and way to much to think about, is going to take 30 years to pay off...now Obama wants to try health care and that is the exact opposite of what he should be doing. So here's the deal, I'm currently a senior at Chicago State University and the finanicial aid dept has suspended my funds to the academic policy that I'm currently not in compliance with. In order to be in compliance, I have to be at a 67% i'm currently at 66.4% Though my GPA is A 2.7, I was told that I had to complete all of my cles due to prior probation or my funds would be suspended. So you could imagine that I wasn't all that happy when I received an F in my math cl but managed to get A's and B's in everything else. I have exactly one more semester to go and no one in my family will co-sign for a sallie mae loan and any money that I've received from fafsa can be stopped by the university. I was offered 18,000 dollars by the way, including loans. At this time, I currently owe the school 3,000 dollars so is there anything I can do to finish my education without owing the school thousands of dollars? Using pH paper, blue/red litmus paper, and cabbage juice as indicators, I noticed that all the acids became warm colors (like red, orange, pink, etc) and the bases became cool colors (like green, blue, purple, etc). Marine Officer or Enlisted?

Hi I need some help picking officer or enlisted. I know i want to be a marine.that is that. but i cant choose Between officer and enlisted because i don't really care which one i end up in. At first i was leaning torward officer because the pay is higher and as a 2n lieutenant you are a platoon commander for 2 years which is awesome. but at the end of that you could end up stuck with paperwork. for me paper work really isn't that bad. what kind of work do they do as a officer?. then i was leaning torward enlisted because money isn't everything (im a very strong believer of that) and you can start out as a private which goes out on the field more for small tasks or combat. but i only want to be in the military a limited number of years (like 4). getting promoted takes a long time unless your really good. so 4 years might not be long enough to reach NCO. is it? also i cant decide between going to college for 2 years then joining enlisted or 4 years for officer. if its 2 years then ill probably be 20 and join with only a year or so of Living as a civilian adult . while 4 years gives me enough time to get a job and live for a while before joining. so to me it doesn't matter. what are your opinions? and if you can will you tell me the steps to be a marine officer? all i know is to start at NROTC in college. ps i know i have leadership skills. i have proved that to myself.

Ok so, I have a question obviously but here is the background information for my particular situation. I have known this guy for about 7 years. I went to high school with him and his younger brother. I got a long well with both, we are all into music and musicians for example. Anyway, he and I got along as I said, but it was never an attraction thing. A few years went by and we kind of lost touch until the amazing yet evil certain online network site came across my lap a few months ago. (I used to have short hair) We've since been talking a lot and confided in each other about our present situations. He has a daughter he takes care of on his own, and I am going through a seperation. I obviously am aware that we've found a common ground in each other with that as friends, etc. and obviously we are both probably no where near ready to start a relationship. That being said, I've come to really like him. I am usually up late at night as I work from home, he does also so he is around late at night most days during the week. He phones me as well and we definitely have a lot in common. I am a singer/songwriter and he is too. He also works with a producer and is involved in the recording process, etc. He has listened to my own original material and has decided he wants to help me with it. So last week I went in to his place and we worked on some music together. I met his parents, and his daughter. He picked her up from her dayhome on the way to drive me back into the city. So it almost seemed like he wanted me to meet her. I feel that is a privalege and I also feel a big deal as a single parent. Mind you at this point we haven't discussed anything of the sort about a relationship or liking each other or anything. We have a lot in common and conversation is never lacking. I feel that the fact that he is helping me with my music either means a) he likes me b) he believes in it that much or c) both. I also feel that he wouldn't open up to me about his situation so much if he didn't like me because in my experience with men, they don't open up to just anyone. After we had gotten together to work on music, we talked online and the discussion of us sleeping together came up. We were both very flirtatious, which we have been in the past also, and he basically said he was debating on whether or not it was a good idea and mentioned us working together. I made sure he knew I definitely have no expectations and I made sure he didn't feel pressured or anything, he said he wasn't and nothing has changed as far as how we get along since. The topic has not come up again, however. He has given me different compliments on various occasions, such as "You're hot", "You have a multi-faceted personality", "You're talented", "You're easy to talk to and down to earth", etc. and obviously if he was even thinking about having with me he must be attracted to me that way. Last weekend my roomie and I invited him out but he couldn't find a sitter. (The next night he had one but not the night her and I were going out.) The day her and I went out he and I talked online and he basically said he wasn't sure what he was going to do the next night he had free from his daughter. Said it was boring in his town and he might come into the city, but he doesn't really know a lot of people. I kind of felt like he was hinting at me to ask him to hang out, so I said if you can't find anything to do give me a call. He never ended up calling, and while disappointed of course, I really wasn't expecting it. He did however message me online late that night after he got home, but I missed it. We talked on the phone earlier tonight (he called me), and had a great time talking like usual. He said he ended up going to karaoke with a guy friend of his. I guess based off of some of the ways he's acted, I get the vibe he could be interested. Although the fact that he didn't call for the opportunity to hang out with me, hasn't really said he is interested or anything makes me think maybe he's just not that into me. He talks a lot about his ex girlfriends and how "psycho" they were and he is really into zodiac signs. (Our signs aren't compatable lol) and he seems to follow this same pattern of girls who really aren't right for him and treat him like crap. I know he doesn't expect anything from me for helping me with my music, and I definitely do not want to abuse the help he is giving me. My feelings for him are seperate from that. I also know like I said earlier that we are both not ready to be with someone else seriously. He told me earlier tonight he would really have to fall in love with a girl to get serious again. I feel the same way but I didn't say that. Above all I value our friendship the most, so I don't want to do anything to jeapordize that. If you happen to work there, does your location have a functioning sink in the kitchen to wash your hands per the food safety laws as set up by the health dept? I'm curious if I experienced a fluke awhile back or are all of the locations like that. What happened to me was I was hired for a cashier position and was immediately put to work as a food prep/busser, etc and they didn't have a sink anywhere in the building to wash your hands. And people were doing everything from carrying trash bags to preparing food. The sink they did have for dishwashing looked like a toxic waste dump and there wasn't even any dishwasher on site, much less running water to clean anything. I couldn't believe that was going on and the place even got an excellent review from the health dept which I thought was total BS. I never went back and was told by acquaintances who ate there regularly but never set foot behind the counter that I was lying. This was not in a dumpy town either.

Hmm..trying to understand your Q's- uming that the builder is too lazy to remove the existing floor board on top of the cement slab and he's trying to lay directly onto the floor board instead. The answer is a 'No-No!'. Ceramic tiles requires cement mortar to adhere to cement slab - hence there's no adhesion at all. Wet mortar won't bond to the floor board & furthermore the wetness will rot the wood! He may argue that he's using special adhesive but again such adhesive has limitations- subject to the floor substrate being free of dirt, grease, undulation, wrap, etc. -read the label of the adhesive. Basically, it's not advisable to do so as in the long run the floorboard may crack, wrap, move resulting in the tiles ontop being pop-out or debond. Furthermore your have cut the bottom of the doorleafs, higher levels compare to other floor areas, etc. Ask him to remove it..and you will safe long term hals and risk the repair or replace of tiles later on. Be safe then being sorry. Ta ta & good luck.

Looking at a 1995 Eclipse GSX, Advice?

Saturday I will be looking at a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse with 134k on the body and 80k on the 6 bolt swap. Its mods are an aftermarket sway bar, act2600 clutch, garret t28 big front intercooler, the head is built boost controller turbo timer with a blowoff valve, and boost and temp gauges. The temp gauge doesn't work so IDK if thats an issue with the car or the gauge itself. Any advice or tips I should do while I'm test driving it and look for any warnings? Last thing I want is to put more $$$ into the car after buying it and I hear bad things about used built DSM's. PLEASE HELP ME!

How can i make my large Calves smaller?

I have been a dancer for almost 22 years! This has caused me to have very large calve muscles, i taught dance for almost 5 years and i have recently had to quit for a while. Recently my Grandmother bought me a beautiful pair of madden boots, up to the knee. The problem is they do not fit which made me go out to find another pair and surprise! I can't find a pair that will fit above my ankle! In the past year i admit i have gained some weight, health problems have made me quit exercising as much but my calve muscles have also stayed large. My question is what can i do to reduce the size of them? I want to be able to wear cute boots above my knee. any help or advice is appreciated!

Precision load for m1903a4 Remington?

To be honest with you, it's quite a shame what happened to that 1903, they are wonderful rifles. I am the proud owner of a Springfield Armory M1903 A1 made in 1912, in amazing condition, unaltered... and many times it has put purpose built competition rifles to shame. I'm not the type to handload special rounds for one gun, but I've had the best results with Federal Ammunition. My 1903 holds an MOA and "then some" (lol) out to six hundred yards and beyond (standard factory stuff). Find the heaviest bullet you can, and use that... match grade ammunition will be expensive, that's a fact, but it's not necessary to handload shells for it. Too bad they butchered an A4, and not one of the everyday runner A3 models... oh well, at least you are trying to make it into something respectable, and I applaud that. I hate seeing sporterized M1903s. It's just horrible, even when it's done right... it just feels unnatural... Good luck with it.

I think doctors do some of the most honorable, admirable, and altruistic work in the world. They dedicate their lives to helping and saving others from injury. And how does our society repay them? By suing them for just for making mistakes and being human! Almost every doctor in this country gets sued multiple times in the course of their career. That's partly why I support medical malpractice reform 110%! It's the very least we can do to show doctors the respect, gratitude, and mercy they deserve. Whenever we sue a doctor for making a mistake, how do we know the doctor didn't have good intentions and wasn't trying their very best? We should be grateful that the doctors even ATTEMPTED to help us in the first place, even if the attempt was unsuccessful. To waste time and money blaming doctors for something they probably DIDN'T EVEN INTEND to do is FUTILE. It doesn't change the situation and it doesn't help doctors learn from their mistakes. The absurd amount of money that's getting earned from medical malpractice suits is an abundantly clear manifestation of how unforgiving, unmerciful, and immature our society has become and it's about time something was done about this!

Stage 5 pancreatic cancer please help?

My Grandmother (age 64) has stage 5 pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver. Her oncologist told us last week (Friday) that he does not want to continue on her Chemo (gemcitabine). He told us that there was nothing else that he could do to prolong her life. At this point I am not sure what to do. I am her Medical POA and her Durable Power of Attorney. Should I start planing her funeral? In Feb 2010 he told me and my mother that with treatment she had a survival chance of 4-6 months but without treatment only 2-4 months. How did my kitten die?

Put my kitten and her food into her little kennal on Saturday night....when i opened it d next morning the food was gone but she wasn't there I was really worried the door was locked so there was no way she could get out and there is also another entrance to the kennel you can open the kennal by opening the roof but it would be impossible for her to open it as she is too small!! I was really worried when I couldn't find her but then I saw my other cat staring into a field near our house so I went into the field and found her in the field dead I was really upset and still am!! Have no idea how she got out of that kennal it's very strange!! my parents definietly didn't open it!! and have no clue how she died, her eyes and mouth were opened but there was no blood!! She was a very playfull kitten and heathy she was grand the night i put her in the kennal but she was very hyper but that was normal for her!! we do have three dogs but i doubt they would have opened the kennal!! It's really strange wat happened. And miss her so much i can't stop crying!!

My chickens are not laying any eggs?

so i have 7 chickens 1 is 3 years old and 2 of them i don't expect any eggs from and the others are all young. they all were laying eggs until 2 of my chickens went broody and hatched 2 chicks and now none of them lay... i provide them with scratch grain and layer pellets of good quality. they have a pen of 8.62 x 6.85 metres of dirt and we are getting some strong gr put down soon for them. their night coop isn't that great but we are also getting a new one of 1.5 x 1.5 x1.9 metres. what am i doing wrong? they were all laying before.. any advice?

Sometimes, I've met some atheists, who use Buddhism, or who marginally study Buddhism, just because Buddha wouldn't say whether he believed or disbelieved in God. Come on, either way, I believe Buddha would definitely have enjoyed Christianity and agreed with many of its ideas, considering both religions share a lot in common. What do you think? Is it fair for atheists to use Buddhism as a tool against Christianity?

The best way is probably to drive north to Patras/Rio, cross the Corinthian Gulf on the new bridge at Rio, then head east all the way to Delphi. These roads are small and (past Rio) winding, but they are scenic. It would take 1 hour to Patra, and probably another 2 hours to Delphi. Stop in Nafpaktos (just across the bridge) for food somewhere near the little harbour!
